For over a decade, I have shared my love of art with students in leading museums and workshops around the world. A career in art education has enabled me to communicate this enthusiasm in varied settings. I have taught students for fourteen years in college, and five years within the public school, from rural Kentucky locations to the urban city schools of New York and Virginia.
As a practicing artist I have been actively involved in promoting the contribution an artist-teacher can make in a public school, and in my own studio practice. I believe it is important for teachers to continue to produce art as practicing art teachers.
